Technology & Method of Use

A complete, single-use subdermal system

SubPac® is a 6-inch wound dressing system utilizing PHMB-treated packing strips available in two widths — 1½ inch and 2½ inch — combined with a multi-layered absorbent wound dressing incorporating Algidex Ag® Silver Alginate.

Applied in under one minute at wound closure. Packing strips inserted subdermally and removed at 48 hours.
Creates an aerobic wound environment inhospitable to the anaerobic bacterial species responsible for most surgical site infections.
Enables primary closure of contaminated incisions that surgeons would otherwise leave open — improving patient quality of life and reducing recovery time.
Zero workflow disruption. Simple Day 2 strip removal. Compatible with all standards of care. Disposable, single-use device.
All patient populations: high-risk (diabetes, stoma, obesity, immunocompromised), infected wounds, emergency/trauma, adult and pediatric.
Pull-tested to 40 lbs. by ETC Innovation manufacturing to address FDA packing strip retention requirements.

Clinical Evidence

Zero infections across all reported cases

Across a case series of 14 high-risk surgical patients at three major New York hospital systems — including patients in septic shock, immunocompromised states, and contaminated wound classifications — SubPac® achieved a zero-infection outcome with no unplanned readmissions.

"SubPac® Wound Care is a patented, FDA 510(k)-cleared subdermal incisional dressing indicated for use in adults and pediatrics. The device is designed to actively remove transudate and exudate from deep within the wound bed into an overlying external dressing. Across all reported cases to date, SubPac® has achieved a zero-infection outcome in high-risk surgical populations."
